Hello WPVC Parents and Athletes!

It’s hard to believe that we are already into the month of October! We have 2 more mini club tournaments in the next 3 weeks and our season will be complete. And that means. It’s time to start thinking about the winter/spring volleyball season, and putting all the skills our athletes have been learning to good use!
Our winter season tryouts will be held on Saturday November 3rd for ages 15 & under.
U10, 11 and 12 girls: Registration 9:00-10:00 AM, Evaluations 10:00-12:00
U13, 14 girls: Registration 1:00-2:00 PM, Evaluations 2:00-4:00
U15, 16 and 17 girls tryouts will be held on Sunday, November 18th
Registration 9:00-10:00 AM – Evaluations 10:00-12:00
Please check the website prior to the tryout to download the forms you will need. There will be a notary at registration for anyone who has not completed the medical release form.
Our fees will be as follows:
All U10 and U11 teams $850.00 and will include the following:
-2 jerseys (one long sleeve, one short sleeve)
-2 spandex
-1 pair of socks
-2 practice shirts
We anticipate these teams competing in 5-7 1 day tournaments as well as 2 full weekend tournaments and possibly the AAU Nationals. This can be revised to include more tournaments if they are available!
A $350.00 deposit will be required at the time your athlete is assigned to her team to secure her place. We will then have 4 monthly payments of $125.00 beginning in January to complete the fees.
All U12 and older teams $1250.00 and will include the following:
-2 jerseys (one long sleeve, one short sleeve)
-2 spandex
-1 pair of socks
-2 practice shirts
-warm-ups (jacket and track pants)
-team bag
We anticipate these teams competing in 5-7 one day tournaments, 2-3 full weekend tournaments as well as AAU Nationals. This can be revised if more tournaments are available!
A $450.00 deposit will be required at the time your athlete is assigned to a team to secure her place. We will then have 4 monthly payments of $200.00 beginning in January to complete the fees.

New Sports Complex Announces Grand Opening

New sports complex provides convenient location and training facility to Orlando and Winter Park and surrounding areas.

Maitland, FL, August 13, 2012 -  Central Florida Sports Complex, a premier sports center in the central Florida region, has scheduled to open it’s doors with a grand opening on
October 6, 2012 at 9:00am-1:00pm at 133 Atlantic Drive, Maitland, Fl 32751.

Food/Snacks/Beverages will be provided.

Central Florida Sports Complex is a 12,000-square-foot climate-controlled sports and training facility that includes indoor volleyball courts, outdoor beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts and other amenities.  It also includes a complete fitness gym for athletes and a concession stand offering healthy food.  The sports complex is available for team sports or individual training.  The facility is also available to rent for events such as conventions, personal fitness, and various sport functions.  The location is convenient for Orlando, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs, Oviedo, Sanford, Apopka, Lake Mary, and Longwood Areas.

The new complex will also be the training facility and tournament location for the Winter Park Volleyball Club (WPVC).  The women’s volleyball club is entering it’s second season and will include unique types of training that will bring athletes to the next level and prepare them for college or pro volleyball.  The head coach and president, Aaron Phillips, has 12 years of coaching experience and is excited about offering a program that will help players see results.  With the recent Olympic games Winter Park Volleyball Club expects to see an increased interest in women’s volleyball.  The US women’s national volleyball team won silver in the Olympic games.  Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh defeated fellow Americans Jen Kessy and April Ross to win their third consecutive beach volleyball Olympic gold medal.

With the grand opening planned, the sports complex promises to be an exciting new feature for the residents of central Florida.
